From the tee to the clubhouse.
Golf is a sport with a strict dress code and an audience that pays close attention to detail. A piece of golfwear must allow for a full range of movement during the swing and look smart in the clubhouse too.
Polo shirts and technical T-shirts
Breathable, stretchy fabrics; collars that keep their shape; and the logo embroidered where it can be seen.
Knitwear and layers
Jumpers, waistcoats and technical sweatshirts for chilly mornings, with knitwear assessed on a project-by-project basis.
Trousers and jackets
Trousers designed for a comfortable swing and lightweight, windproof softshell jackets.
For your brand or your club.
A golf brand sells to all golfers, whilst a golf club outfits its staff and sells to its members. These are two different projects, and we’ll work this out together during our first call.
Golf brands
A capsule collection developed from scratch, with a focus on fabric selection and fit, for a brand seeking to establish itself in the golf sector with its own product.
Club, pro shop and resort
Staff uniforms and garments featuring the club’s logo, to be sold in the pro shop, personalised with embroidery and labels.
In both cases, research into fabrics, finishes and small details is carried out before the prototype is produced. In golf, this is the difference between a golf shirt and just any old T-shirt.
A supply chain within 30 km.
Technical T-shirts, sweatshirts, trousers and softshell jackets are manufactured in workshops within 30 km of Gallarate: greater quality control, less transport, greater sustainability. For polo shirts and knitwear, we select the workshop on a project-by-project basis and let you know which one before we start.
Be A Designer doesn’t just handle production. We only undertake pure contract manufacturing for VAT-registered individuals and established companies. Those starting from scratch go through the full programme: it’s the safest way to avoid spending money on production before knowing what to sell, to whom and at what price.
Prototypes and production stay close: we go to the workshop instead of sending emails.
From idea to product, in six stages.
The complete Be A Designer programme. If you already have a collection and suppliers, we’ll start with the stage that suits your needs.
Strategy
Who the brand is for, who it competes with, and the price at which it stands up.
Collection
A carefully planned capsule, not an endless catalogue.
Materials
Fabrics, leathers, trims, small fittings and buttons selected before the prototype is made.
Prototype
The garment becomes real: it is tried on, corrected and approved.
Production
In the short supply chain within 30 km of Gallarate, with quality control.
Launch
Content, e-commerce and distribution: a brand only sells when people know it exists.

A realistic figure is around 50 items per design, which works out at about 10 items per size. Be A Designer works on capsule collections: when it comes to jumpers, it’s best to start with just a few well-made pieces.
As a guide to fabric and manufacturing costs, a technical T-shirt costs €10–18, a technical sweatshirt €22–42 and a softshell jacket €45–90; a pair of ‘Made in Italy’ trousers costs €35–70. Polo shirts and knitwear are quoted on a case-by-case basis, depending on the fabric and finishes.
Embroidering the logo costs an additional €5–6 per item, with a one-off set-up fee of €25–60, depending on the size and complexity of the design.
For a technical capsule collection developed from scratch, the estimated lead times are 1–2 months for fabrics, 1–2 months for prototypes and 2–3 months for production. With customised basic garments, the lead times are shorter, as the garment already exists.
