In brief.

Be A Designer is a design studio based in Gallarate (Varese) which has been supporting emerging designers, brands and shops for 12 years. For children’s clothing, it operates in the same way as for ready-to-wear fashion: it selects specialist suppliers, checks samples, fit and quality before placing an order, and personalises the garments with the brand’s labels, embroidery and packaging. It is the quickest way to launch a children’s range or create your own in-store collection; the cost of the garments depends on the supplier and the quantity.

Small garments, big attention to detail.

Children’s clothing is judged by how it feels to the touch and how it washes. Softness, durability and safety are just as important as style, and vary considerably from one supplier to another.

  • Supplier selection

We’d like to introduce you to suppliers of children’s clothing that match your style, your price range and the quantities you require.

  • Inspection of garments

Samples, sizes, fabrics and details such as buttons and drawstrings are checked before the order is placed, not afterwards.

  • Your brand on the garments

Labels, embroidery and packaging transform ready-to-wear garments into a range under your brand.

Your brand’s range or collection.

These are two different ways of getting into the child’s mind. The first one completes a shop, the second builds a line. In the first call, we’ll work out which one you need.

Shop stock

Children’s clothing selected from reliable suppliers, to round off the range of a shop that is not expanding.

Your brand’s children’s range

The same garments, personalised with labels, embroidery and packaging: they become your brand’s children’s range.

Once the range is selling well, you can move on to designing some garments from scratch, using fabrics and details that are uniquely yours.

Carefully selected suppliers, piece by piece.

Our children’s clothing comes from specialist suppliers, both in Italy and abroad, and we’ll tell you this item by item: we don’t label anything as ‘Made in Italy’ if it isn’t. Our job is to choose suppliers carefully, check the samples and oversee the customisation process.

Be A Designer doesn’t just handle production. We only undertake pure contract manufacturing for VAT-registered individuals and established companies. Those starting from scratch go through the full programme: it’s the safest way to avoid spending money on production before knowing what to sell, to whom and at what price.

When you move into production from scratch, prototyping and production go hand in hand: we go to the workshop; we don’t send emails.
