Each department has its own uniform.

A uniform is a company’s first point of contact: it’s the first thing people see, even before the service itself. That’s why it’s designed like a fashion item, taking into account the person wearing it and how many hours they spend in it.

  • Hotels and reception

Matching shirts, jackets, suits and scarves for reception, concierge and dining room staff, featuring the establishment’s colours and logo.

  • Restaurants and bars

Aprons, shirts, polo shirts and front-of-house jackets, made from fabrics chosen to withstand frequent washing and long hours on duty.

  • Hostesses and beauty salons

Stylish uniforms for those who work with the public: suits, dresses, blouses and accessories such as scarves and ties.

Basic garments or made-to-measure uniforms.

These are two different approaches in terms of cost, time and image. The choice depends on the role of the person wearing the uniform and how you want your company to be perceived.

Personalised basic garments

High-quality polo shirts, T-shirts, sweatshirts and aprons, personalised with embroidery, printing and your brand’s labels. It’s the quickest option and offers the lowest cost per item.

Bespoke uniforms, Made in Italy

Shirts, jackets, trousers and suits tailored to your style, with carefully selected fabrics and prototypes, produced in workshops within 30 km of Gallarate.

The two options can be combined: personalised basic garments for the kitchen and bar, and bespoke uniforms for reception and the dining room. We’ll choose them together during our first call.

A supply chain within 30 km.

The bespoke uniforms are manufactured in workshops within 30 km of Gallarate: a short supply chain that allows us to oversee the prototypes and production in person. The customised base garments may be of European or non-European origin, which is why we do not market them as ‘Made in Italy’.

Be A Designer doesn’t just handle production. We only undertake pure contract manufacturing for VAT-registered individuals and established companies. Those starting from scratch go through the full programme: it’s the safest way to avoid spending money on production before knowing what to sell, to whom and at what price.

The indicative minimum order is around 50 items per design, but for uniforms this depends on the garment and the number of sizes: we specify this in the quotation. The initial enquiry is to establish how many people need to be kitted out and with which garments.

Frequently asked questions.

Yes. Be A Designer designs corporate uniforms for hotels, restaurants, bars, reception areas, airlines and beauty salons: basic garments customised with embroidery, printing and labels, or made-to-measure ‘Made in Italy’ uniforms produced in workshops within 30 km of Gallarate.

A realistic estimate is around 50 items per design, but for uniforms this depends on the garment and the number of sizes required. The exact minimum is specified in the quotation, once we have established how many people need to be kitted out and with which garments.

As a guide, a personalised T-shirt costs €8–25 each when ordered in a batch of 100, a basic hoodie with print costs €20–35, a made-to-measure ‘Made in Italy’ shirt costs €40–80, a pair of trousers costs €35–70 and a deconstructed jacket costs €80–150. Aprons, polo shirts, suits and scarves are quoted on request.

Embroidering the logo costs an additional €5–6 per item, with a one-off set-up fee of €25–60, depending on the size and complexity of the design. Personalised labels cost €0.15–0.20 each, based on a run of around 1,000 items.

Made-to-measure suits, yes: shirts, jackets, trousers and suits are produced in workshops within 30 km of Gallarate. Personalised basic garments, such as polo shirts and T-shirts, may be sourced from within or outside Europe and are not marketed as ‘Made in Italy’.

It depends on the process. With customised basic garments, lead times are shorter, as the garment already exists. For made-to-measure uniforms, you need to select the fabrics and produce a prototype; production generally takes 3–8 weeks after the sample has been approved.

No. Be A Designer does not produce team kits or promotional items for events. It works with companies and brands, producing uniforms for staff at hotels, restaurants, airlines, beauty salons, gyms and Pilates studios.
