In brief.

Be A Designer is a design studio based in Gallarate (Varese) which has been supporting emerging designers and brands in the creation and production of their collections for the past 12 years. For homewear, there are two options: capsule collections developed from scratch, involving fabric research and prototyping, or ready-made, high-quality garments customised with the brand’s labels, embroidery and packaging. As a guide, a jersey T-shirt costs €8–25 per item for a batch of 100, and a sweatshirt costs €20–35 as a basic printed item, or €40–60 if developed from scratch; fabric pyjamas are quoted on a case-by-case basis.

The collection you wear at home.

Homewear has become a category in its own right: people buy it for themselves and as gifts, and they look for soft, well-made garments with a clear identity. It is put together like a capsule collection, with just a few pieces that go well together.

  • Pyjamas

Made from poplin, flannel, cotton or silk, with collars, trims and buttons chosen to suit your style.

  • Jersey loungewear

Matching sets, T-shirts, sweatshirts and loose-fitting trousers for wearing at home and when you go out without having to change.

  • Brand details

Labels, embroidery and packaging that turn a pair of pyjamas into a distinctive gift.

From scratch or ready-made garments.

These are two different approaches in terms of cost, timeframe and positioning. During the first call, we’ll work out which one is right for you.

Capsules from scratch

Pyjamas and loungewear tailored to your style, with careful selection of fabrics, finishes and prototypes prior to production.

Ready-to-wear personalised garments

Existing high-quality garments, personalised with your brand’s labels, embroidery and packaging: the quickest way to test the category.

The two approaches can be combined: a pyjama set designed from scratch as the centrepiece, and customised jersey garments to complete the range.

A short and transparent supply chain.

Jersey T-shirts and sweatshirts are manufactured in workshops within 30 km of Gallarate. For fabric pyjamas and ready-to-wear garments, the workshop or supplier is chosen on a project-by-project basis: we always tell you where each garment is made and we do not label anything as ‘Made in Italy’ if it isn’t.

Be A Designer doesn’t just handle production. We only undertake pure contract manufacturing for VAT-registered individuals and established companies. Those starting from scratch go through the full programme: it’s the safest way to avoid spending money on production before knowing what to sell, to whom and at what price.
